Elf

Can I just say this is my all time favorite Christmas movie. There aren't many movies out there that make you laugh and cry at the same time. I love the ending when Santa's sleigh flies over their heads and everyone is singing "you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm tellin' you why....Santa Clause is coming to town" I just can feel the spirit of Christmas. I seriously cry every time. Does that make me a loser?

No Bully Here...

Apparently they are having a problem with bullying in 5th grade. Shad, being a 6th grader, is not involved in this, in fact, he was used as an example to them. It was said that he never plays with the same group of kids at recess, that he always has a lot of friends around him because he is just plain fun to be around. They were told that if they wanted to be like someone they should try to be like Shad. He doesn't talk bad about others and is always friendly. The kids were asked who knew Shad in 6th grade, everyone did, then who thinks Shad is cool, everyone did. Wow, this was all about my boy, can you believe it, my Shad. Oh, how my heart swelled when I was told this. I mean, I know what a good boy he is and what a kind heart he has but to hear it coming from a teacher at school, a teacher that has never ever taught him, it made me feel so good. I love this boy so much and feel like I'm the luckiest mom in the world.

Someone is a 6th grader

Is that not the cutest 6th grader you ever saw?
Mr. Jeppesen's class. Shad's going to have a wonderful year!

I can't believe it will be his last year in elementary school. Sad!
Here's little old me. I had to take a picture for a new work badge so I thought what the heck...it's my first day of school too.

And here's the bulletin board I made for the hallway outside my classroom. I think it turned out cute. Brett suggested I add a few seagulls and crabs so I'll be doing that soon.

Lazy Dog Days of Summer are Behind Us

Summer 2009 was fabulous. Can't believe we didn't go to Veterans Pool one time seems how we lived there last year. We did however have a lot of sleep overs with friends and cousins, traveled to St George to see mom and spent 12 days in California. I love California! All this and more highlighted in the pictures to follow. While in Cali we went to Santa Cruz with Paula and family where we stayed late and had a bonfire on the beach. We then went to San Diego and stayed at a wonderful resort named Paradise Point were we swam in the pool and played in the ocean. We went to Sea World and San Diego Zoo and toured the Midway aircraft carrier. We slept in everyday and ate lots of good food. The boys favorite was In-N-Out, of course! We were able to take Cal Wardell with us and enjoyed every minute of his company as I'm sure he did us. We also did some major remodeling this summer; new roof, new windows, new kitchen counters, new air conditioners. We've had lots of barbecues, Shandi turned 22 and Brettly turned 18!!!!! Brett got a new girlfriend, a 2008 Chevy Silverado and I got a new kitchen table. Shad went to Camp Big Springs, earned some scout merit badges and saw Transformers 5 times. Wow, I can't believe summer is nearly over. Now we'll get ready for school to start and count down the months until next summer vacation but until them we'll enjoy the memories of this summer.
