More fun times...

I love this picture of Kiley and Shad.  And Shad loves spending time with his cousins.  When Shad's concert was over we went to the school playground to play.

Cayson reminds me a lot of Shad when Shad was his age.  They are both so energetic, adventurous and clumsy!
Yes...this could have turned out bad, considering who is standing at the top of the slide so I snapped a picture while I could.

FUN TIMES

We had so much fun having Kiley and Cayson over to play so I thought I would share some highlights of the evening.  First thing we did was play outside where we promptly showed Kiley and Cayson the snails we have living in the front yard.  Knowing how they like bugs we figured they would enjoy this and they had never encountered a snail at their house so it was quite exciting.  We found a "daddy" snail, a "mommy" snail and a little tiny "baby" snail.  I found some Easter buckets that we could put the snails in and from that point on the kids carried them with them throughout the evening.  We went to the duck pond, took the snails.  We walked to Shad's school for his choir concert, took the snails.  We ate dinner, with the snails.  

We had so much fun but if you want to know all the fun Megan has had with the snails check out her blog.  Sorry Megan!  If anyone else wants some snails we have more!  Notice the green and pink bucket with Kiley and Cayson...yep, it's their snails!















You can see what Cayson thought of the concert.  Or was it that Uncle Brett is just really comfy  to sit on?  All of the kids singing kept laughing because we were on the front row.  It was so much fun playing with them.  They're about the cutest kids on the planet!

Finished!


Ok, I finished "the host" today and I have to say it was good but not the romantic book that I really enjoy and was hoping for.  I personally thought it was a little long.  It's not one that I could stand to read over again the way I could the Twilight series which I have now read all the books twice plus listened to them on CD several times.  Yeah, I basically have those books memorized.  I think Brett is really going to like this book.  I liked the twists in it and I know he will like it because of the aliens.  I would recommend it to people because I think it is well written.  Stephenie Meyer is a great writer and has a way of helping you connect with the charactors.  I'd really like to know what you thought of the book because I know that a lot of you who read my blog will also real this book.  So leave a comment about your thoughts on it.  I'll just keep waiting for Breaking Dawn.  I think we have about 81 days left.  That's less then 3 months people!  

OMG...I LOVE THIS GIRL!


I could not possibly love my Shandi anymore then I already do!  She is the most beautiful, loving, funny, creative, talented and sassy little thing.  I'm so lucky to have her as my daughter and to have had our relationship grow the way it has the last year.  I'm so proud of the woman she has become and the friendship we share.  I love that our color can be so opposite but that we still look so alike.  I just can't wait to see what the future brings for us.  I'm the luckiest mom in the world.  I love this picture of us and the way she still makes me feel so young and the way that we always laugh so much when we are together.  She even pampered me on Mother's Day by painting my toenails.  I love you my Shandi-Bandi!

I love my job!


I love working at Shad's school and the way that everyone at the school makes me feel so needed and loved.  Last week was teacher appreciation week and this is the poster that was on my door.  I never thought I would be so happy at a job and even though this will probably be the closest I ever get to being a teacher I have learned that I absolutely love working with all the kiddo's at school and the staff is so wonderful.  I wouldn't trade my job for anything.

Random..

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?!

Not only have we been going to Joe Vera's for years on a weekly to bi-weekly bases but we have also referred many friends and family there who have also enjoyed their delicious cuisine.  So how, I mean somebody tell me how, I did not know that they had a frequent diners card!  Do you know how many discounts we would have had by now.  I counted through my check book and we have been there 10 times....count it people 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 TIMES since February!    That would be at least 3 punches each time, so 30 punches, meaning I would have filled up almost 2 cards by now, probably 3 cards because sometimes we took other people with us.  I won't even try to add up how much money we have spent there!  Dang!  Well now you know that Joe Vera's has a Frequent Diners card so pick one up the next time you're there.   

Shandi's gunna kill me!

My sweetie came over for me to dye her hair and I took advantage and got some candid shots.  Isn't she so beautiful, even without any make-up.  Oh, I love her so much!  I'm looking forward to a Mommy/Daughter date with her when dad and Shad go on the Father/Sons campout.  We're doing dinner and a movie while the boys go play in the dirt.  And we all know how Brett feels about camping so it should be interesting.  I love your guts Shandi-Bandi!

Poor, neglected blog:( 
 I can't believe I haven't posted anything for almost a month.  We have been busy though.  I've been working overtime because we are in the middle of end of year testing at school and this is the first year the students have done it all online, so I've been working hard to make sure everything runs smoothly and so far it has. (knock on wood)  The person whose place I took at school just took a job as the secretary to the superintendent and everyone keeps asking me if I'm going to apply for her job at the district.  To tell you the truth in the past I would not have hesitated to climb the "District Ladder" but I decided that I really just want to enjoy this summer with Shad because who knows what next year will bring and I may never get this chance again.  What else have we been doing you ask....   
We Painted the spare bedroom/craft room and put new carpet in.  You can't really tell in this picture but the color is a celery green and it looks so nice with the bedding that my friend Cathy gave me.  I had a girls sleepover with Lisa and Linda with them scrapbooking while I made a quilt.  We were so busy
 that I didn't take a single picture of us.  We stayed up until almost 3am.   I'll post a picture of the quilt as soon as I get it finished.  

We helped build Uncle Lynn a new deck, well Brett helped, I watched and told them what to do.  I just finished cleaning Uncle Lynn's carpets today and kept thinking as I was cleaning his how much I needed to clean my own.  Isn't it funny how if you do something for someone else you realize how much the same stuff needs done at your own home.  My list for summer time just keeps getting longer of the things I need to do around the house.  Clean the garage out, clean the shop out, clean the shed out, clean the book cabinet out, clean the office out, paint my outside bench red to match my front door, paint two cabinets white, stain the rocking chair in the spare room, change the name on the dog house from Brig to Chewy, clean the carpet, plant some flowers, and go swimming everyday with Shad.  OH-Boy, I can't wait for summer!  We won't be going anywhere on vacation this summer just stickin' around home so I plan to do some good reading, I just finished the most romantic book called The Touch of Sage by Marcia Lynn McClure, oh it was amazing, I had flutters in my tummy all the way through it.  (Thanks Kim for sharing it with me).  I have Breaking Dawn to look forward to in August but will be picking up The Host, Stephenie Meyers other book on Tuesday.  I'll post a review when I finish it.  I also plan on reading another book from Marcia McClure to see if it might be as good as Sage.  I'm a sucker for a good romance! 


We took Shad to see Iron Man and you know him, he is now obsessed with yet another comic character.  I swear if there was such a thing that boy would grow up to be a super hero.
