Future Missionary

Saturday Shad had a Primary activity were they pretended to be missionaries.  He was called to serve in the Sydney Australia Mission.  At the activity we met in the Chapel and the Mission President (Bishop Ouderkirk) talked about what it means to be a missionary.  Then we broke up into groups.  I was able to help out in the room for P-Day.  There was another area where they went on an "airplane" to their destination and watched a short video and another were they actually went tracking.  The missionaries would knock on doors and introduce themselves as Missionaries from the church and then either be accepted inside or turned away.  The kids loved it!  On P-Day they were able to write letters so each of them wrote a few letters to the missionaries who are serving from our ward. There was also a room were they could go to learn their language as some children were called to spanish speaking missions.   It really was a great activity.  At the end we all met back in the Chapel and heard from two missionaries serving in our area and a new convert in our ward.  Our Primary presidency did a great job putting this together.  The Elder behind Shad was from Washington State and the Elder behind Brenna was from California, but originally from the Philippines.
